Hurricane Sandy - Update 2
Press release - PC Components Experiences Direct Hit from Hurricane Sandy - Update 2 (Day 8)
For immediate release Tuesday, November 6, 2012
Seaside Park, New Jersey - PC Components corporate office is located on a barrier island in Seaside Park, New Jersey, which took a direct hit from superstorm Sandy.
While disaster authorities are still restricting access to the island until such time that the access roads are deemed safe and the power and gas is restored, we were permitted to inspect our facility on Monday, November 5th, and it was found to be completely intact with minimal, if any, damage.
It is clear that the majority of the photos of Island Beach that we have all seen on TV, including the Seaside Heights photos of the roller coaster in the ocean, were taken of properties in towns located on the north side of the island which are at a lower elevation and not protected by the ten-foot high sand dunes in Seaside Park.
A temporary office has been set up in our Toms River warehouse used to store the majority of our inventory. This building is several miles inland and was not effected by the storm.
Right now we are up and running for business ready to fill your orders. We have already shipped parts.
At the current time we continue to offer same-day shipping for product stored in our Toms River warehouse. Shipment of product stored in our Seaside Park facility can be expected to be delayed by perhaps a day or two, until such time that the authorities once again grant us unrestricted access to our facility.
"I'd like to extend my warmest thanks to all of our clients, customers, and competitors who have contacted us with well wishes during this time," stated P. Steve Calabria, Founder and CEO of PC Components. We will continue to post updates on our website until normal operations are restored."
